Downloaded flac file distorted

Who knows the real answer? Last Edit : by audioaficionado. From the description it sounds like they were saved with old version of Reaper. See this. Yeah I tried to play it in foobar and it was definitely broken, like I said before loads of static noise and distortion.

Now that my download finished it is clear that it is exactly the same issue as in the thread I linked. I decoded with flac. Quote from: Case on OK I read those links but I'm still lost. The files still don't play in the latest versions of foobar or winamp. Will play in VLC player. I have FLAC 1. It still seems distorted.

Is there a better way to invoke the flac CL process? Last Edit : by CoyoteSmith. Where to download FLAC music online legally? Here we have selected several good sites for your reference. HDtracks is also a good place to find new releases. It provides an easy-to-handle navigation bar in which you can search for music based on time, genres, label, artists, etc.

Of course, if you're keen on Hi-Res music, you can go to its Hi-Res store and find the music you need. It started out as a place to release music from their band Superchunk and music created by friends, but now it includes more artists and excellent records around the world. Although it doesn't offer as many music files as some of other FLAC music online stores, it's still a good choice for high-quality items. Qobuz has extensive music collections for users to easily find and buy the desired music.

There is also a Qobuz bit HD Collection catalog providing high-resolution music. So if you are looking for some free FLAC music download sites, torrent sites are surely the best place to go. There are many popular torrent sites such as The Pirate Bay where you can download massive sources including kickass movies , games, music, applications, etc.

FLAC torrent files can also be easily found. You can also use a third-party tool to download music from websites. It's powerful and performs fast. Others I may have converted using dBpoweramp Music Comverter.

I am not certain that the freshly ripped files are the ones showing excessive distortion. Two days ago I re-ripped the Andrea Bocelli tracks from the CDs and all was good, meaning no obvious distortion. This is using R15 that I purchased a few years ago. These rips were done maybe 10 years ago, and I am not sure what cd ripping application that I was using. I am wondering what it the cause of the distortion.

If it is the R15 version of the dBpoweramp CD Ripper app then I might have to re-rip nearly all of my music, then check it for quality. If it is the "conversion" process using dBpoweramp Music Converter, then it will be only the older stuff that might need to be re-ripped from the CDs. By any chance does CD Ripper have times when it does not produce a quality output, perhaps because I have used it for a great many rips and the app somehow gets corrupted?

If so, is there any reason to believe an upgrade to R17 will resolve the problem? I am curious what the more knowledgeable people here think might be going on. Please advise. Dat Ei. Agree with Dat Ei's point.
